We are congratulated because of our collaborator Antonio Almagro (Arabic Studies School, CSIC and University of Granada), who has been recently designated as an honorary member of CIPA. The decision was taken in a meeting held by the International Committee for the Documentation of Cultural Heritage (CIPA), on the occasion of the XXIV International Symposium celebration in Strasbourg between the 2nd and 6th September. CIPA is one of the Scientific Committees from ICOMOS (International Council of Monuments and Sites) which also depends on the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).
Dr. Almagro joined up CIPA as a regular member in 1986 staying until 1999. Afterwards, between 1999 and 2004 he became an associated member, as he exceeded the maximum length permitted by the statutes. Later on, he kept on participating in the Symposia and other meetings organized by the CIPA contributing on different topics.
At the present time, this new designation which means recognition to his scientific and professional career will allow him to take part in the tasks and meetings of the Committee on a permanent basis.
