Vitoria-Gasteiz Council joins the Starlight initiative related to the Covenant of Mayors and proposes for the municipality a sustainable external lighting management, represnting a Model of Excellence within the Starlight Framework.
The light pollution has significantly increased in the past few years, causing negative effects sucha as the increase of energy consumption and air emissions and the loss of nocturnal biodiversity among others.
Therefore, Vitoria-Gasteiz, as European Green Capital, has decided to join this initiative pretending to be a model of sustainable city.
