Today at Med-O-Med we join the celebration of the International Day for Biological Diversity on 22nd May. In our geographic working area – the countries in the Mediterranean and the Middle East – there is an enormous biological wealth, although both regions are also among the most threatened ones in our planet.
Our work at Med-O-Med precisely combines the protection and enhancement of cultural and natural heritage. This year’s theme is Island Biodiversity. The images on this page depict Socotra, a Yemeni archipelago in the Indian Ocean and an emblem of biodiversity.
