Energy

Med-O-Med is committed to renewable energies as the essential infrastructure for all its projects and to be recommended to any institutions with which it works.

According to data from the International Energy Agency (IEA), in northern Africa and the Middle East, both primary sources of energy and electricity generation are 95% based on fossil fuels. The use of such non-renewable fuels amounts to a risk for future development of these areas, which should work towards the use of renewable energies in order to guarantee future consumption.

Studies by the Global Energy Network Institute point to the great potential of this area for producing energy using renewable methods. Solar energy is of special interest considering the local climate. According to the study, it would be possible to meet the electricity requirements of the whole region using solar energy alone. But other renewable energies also have great potential, especially wind energy and that produced from biomass.
