Botany Division was first established as a section before 1982, and from this date it was joined as a division under the Department of Biology ANK Herbarium is the first herbarium in the Republic of Turkey. It was founded by K.Krause and H.Birand in 1933. |

PROGRAMMES | Botany researches diversity and structure of Plants and Fungi as well as thier identification and thier evolutionary relationships by means of morphologic and molecular aspects. Plant systematics, morphology, Anatomy, Mycology, Lichenology and Palynology are some of the main subjects of Botany. | ||
FEATURES AND FACILITIES | Herbarium (200.000 specimens (Flowering Plant and Fern) and (15.000 Mushroom, Moss, Lichen Specimens)
Genebank (11 000 specimens) Faculty of Agriculture: 28 decares of vineyards, 35 decares of orchards, 6 decares of vegetable gardens and 5.4 decares of ornamental plants parcels. In addition, there are 622 square meters modern greenhouse and 256 square meters greenhouses for ornamental plant breeding and breeding activities |
