Today, the 5th June, the World Environmental Day established by the UN in 1972, is celebrated all around the world. The main objectives are to raise awareness among the population and to claim political attention and action in the topic. This year is also special as it is the 40th aniversary since it started to be a worlwide event.
In all parts of the world as well as in Madrid, different activities are planned to be developed aimed to enhance the population as an active sustainable development agent, to promote changes in the attitude towards environmental issues and to encourage cooperation as a guarantee to build a better place to live for the future generations.
