Morning gardens

“How often have I ventured into the gardens in the early morning hour:

Branches are reminiscent of a lover’s gesture.

How beautiful they looked intertwined by the winds as if necks!

Roses are as cheeks; daisies, smilling mouths,

While the narcissus are eyes”.

Ibn Hafs Al-Jaziri (11th century)
