Aleppo project   ProcessAfter FUNCI technicians visited Syria a cooperation agreement was signed with the Syrian counterparty, Syrian Environmental Association (SEA) and the construction works of the andalusi-style garden within the Al-Amma park have been started with the support of Alepo’s municipality.

The final site for the garden is not that initially thought of, it will now be on a larger, busier site.

The architect, Lola Robador and the botanist, Benito Valdés, both from the University of Seville, will design the garden with the support of the Med-O-Med expert committee, SEA technicians and Alepo University, which has become involved in the project through its agricultural department.

The public presentation of this Project and of the collaboration between FUNCI and SEA within the Med-O-Med project was made on July 11 2010.

It aims to set up projects involving maximum participation by regional social and public agents, with total respect for genetic sovereignty and the cultural identity of the local populations, all within an inter-cultural and a multi-disciplinary approach.
